Gas Stoves

It always pays to have a backup plan or another option to turn to.  A disaster (e.g., a tornado, hurricane, or earthquake) has hit your neighborhood.  Your home was spared but all electricity and gas throughout your town/city has been cutoff, and it appears that it will be several days (or perhaps longer) before the gas and electrical power can be restored.  Or perhaps you weren’t so lucky and your home was destroyed, and you and your family have temporarily relocated to some land you own nearby and are camping out.   If that happens, it would be nice to have a portable gas stove to fall back on.   And when most people think of portable gas stoves, they think of “Coleman stoves”.   I am recommending below several Coleman portable gas stoves that have good customer satisfaction ratings.

Coleman PerfectFlow 1-Burner Stove

Highly Recommend: This is a simple to use one burner stove that uses propane for fuel.  The stove weighs about 2.2 pounds and has an 8 inch bowl with a pot support system.   Amazon customers awarded this stove a 4.7 out of 5 star rating.

Coleman 1-Burner Dual Fuel Sporter II Liquid Fuel Stove

This one burner stove is designed to operate on either Coleman liquid fuel or unleaded gas which is a good feature to have in case there is no Coleman liquid fuel available.  Note: Several customers indicated that using unleaded gas in the stove for an extended period of time can cause clogging.  My suggestion would be to use premium unleaded gas until you can obtain Coleman liquid fuel.  The Amazon customer satisfaction rating was 4.2 out of 5 stars.

Coleman Exponent Multi-Fuel Stove

This one burner stove can operate on Coleman liquid fuel, unleaded gasoline, or kerosene (kerosene generator included).  The stove weighs 21.6 ounces.  Amazon customers rated this stove 4.1 out of 5 stars.

Coleman Two-Burner Propane Stove

Highly Recommend: This is the classic propane-burning Coleman two burner stove that we are all familiar with.  This is a two burner stove and so it is larger (23.25″ X 5.5″ 14.75″) and heavier than one burner stoves.  But, on the other hand, since it has two burners, you can cook more than one thing at a time.  The Amazon customer satisfaction rating was 4.3 out of 5 stars.
